At this meeting, HOSA members learned about the mission, goals, and benefits of joining HOSA and worked together to package first-aid kits for all of the teachers and staff at THS!

At this meeting, we will be discussing the upcoming blood drive and HOSA members will be able to sign up to donate blood, sign up to help with the blood donor recruitment booth, sign up to volunteer at the blood drive, and sign up to donate snacks for the blood drive. HOSA members will also use this time to create posters and flyers promoting the upcoming blood drive.

During the Homecoming Carnival, HOSA members sold popcorn to raise funds for the club. In total, we raised $80 for the HOSA - Future Health Professionals club!

At this meeting students got to learn and practice hands-on skills drawing blood like a phlebotomist, suturing like a surgeon, ankle wrapping like an athletic trainer, and visual acuity and color blindness screening like an optometrist.

At this meeting, students finished final prep for the upcoming blood drive, learned about the blood donation process, and completed a blood typing lab where they got to practice finding and identifying blood types.

We collected 43 units of blood which can be used to save 129 lives!
3:15 PM - 4:30 PM in Ms. Essick's Classroom (S100)
At this meeting students learned about career opportunities in veterinary science and practiced hands on skills such as drawing blood from a canine leg, restraining an animal, and how to read ear cytology reports. Students also used this meeting as an opportunity to write Christmas cards for the local nursing home!
3:15 PM - 4:30 PM in Ms. Essick's Classroom (S100)
At this meeting students will learn about career opportunities in nursing and the different types of nursing specialties. Students will get to practice hands-on skills such as measuring and recording vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, height and weight, check blood glucose levels, give injections and use a Braslow tape to measure and dose pediatric prescriptions.

We collected 29 units of blood which can be used to save 87 lives!

At this meeting, HOSA members packaged over 30 personal hygiene goodie bags for members of our community who are in need.

At this meeting, HOSA members learned about the knowledge and skills necessary to become an Emergency Medical Technician and got to practice hands-on skills used as an EMT while learning from a former student who graduated from the EMT program!

At this meeting we will be discussing the purpose and goals of HOSA, making marketing materials and planning activities for the year. We will also be taking headshots of each officer in their HOSA T Shirt for our website so please come prepared.

At this meeting, HOSA members will learn all about the Phlebotomy career and how to become a Phlebotomist. HOSA members will also get to practice drawing blood using our Phlebotomy Practice Arm!

At this meeting, HOSA members will learn all about careers in the surgical field and how to become a Licensed Surgeon. HOSA members will also get to watch a virtual surgery take place and get to practice suturing wounds using our Surgical Suture Practice Kits!

At this meeting, HOSA members will learn about Ronald McDonald House Charities and the services they provide to families in need. Students will also plan a menu and volunteer to provide a meal for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Piedmont Triad. Donations for a meal will be dropped off on Saturday, December 4th.

HOSA members will provide donated food for a Taco Night to the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem.

At this meeting HOSA members will celebrate the holiday season with snacks and music while decorating Christmas cards for the residents of a local nursing home.

At this meeting, HOSA members will learn all about career opportunities in Athletic Training and how to become an Athletic Trainer. HOSA members will also get to practice hands-on skills such as checking for concussions, splinting fractures, compression wrapping and joint taping!

We collected 31 units of blood which can be used to save 93 lives! As of today, we have collected 141 units of blood in total since Fall of 2019, which can be used to save 423 lives!
