About Me

Dear students and parents,

Greetings!  สวัสดี ค่ะ. 大家好。My name is Mrs. Jasmine Orellana, and I am excited to join you for the 2025-2026 school year at TCIS!

I am originally from northeastern Pennsylvania but have lived since finishing my undergraduate degree in Indianapolis, Indiana.  After working for several years in the business sector, I returned to university to complete my Master of Arts in Teaching, and I have been working full-time as a teacher since 2011.  

As soon as I entered the classroom, I knew that it was where I had belonged from the beginning.  After teaching for seven years in Indianapolis, I accepted a position in 2018 to teach AP English Language and Composition at a highly ranked school in Shandong Province, China.  While my time in China was amazing, my family decided to make another move for the 2020-2021 school year, bringing us to Bangkok.  Teaching at TCIS has proved an amazing opportunity, and I am excited to continue here for the 2025-2026 school year!

As for my personal life, I have been married to my wonderful husband, Omar, for sixteen years, and we have a lovely daughter, Yuliana, who also attends TCIS.  In our home, we speak mostly Spanish, which is both my husband's and my daughter's first language.  In my spare time, I love to read, write, sew, cook, and travel.  I am also an avid language learner, and I look forward to continuing to improve my Chinese language skills as well as beginning to learn Thai here at TCIS.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to get to know all of you, and I’m looking forward to a busy and productive school year!
