Hempfield Area School District

Portrait of a Graduate

Preparing Students for Success

in College, Career & Life in the Era of Change & Innovation

What is a portrait of a graduate?

The Hempfield Area School District is working to create a portrait of a graduate to guide our district in all efforts for the next five years. Our students deserve every opportunity to succeed in school, the workplace and in life.

The world is changing. No one knows what the jobs market will look like in 10 or 20 years' time, but everyone agrees - things are changing faster than at any other time in history.

Today's elementary school students will end up in jobs that do not even exist today. The district recently updated its comprehensive plan and believes that a visual representation of the essential skills and attributes that define a Spartan graduate should be identified.

Why a portrait of a graduate?

A Portrait of a Graduate is meant to be something that is aspirational and help the Hempfield Area School District to redefine what success looks like for our students in addition to the traditional acceptance of grades, test scores or credits earned. Our Portrait of a Graduate will be unique and reflect the shared vision of our community. Your input is valuable and appreciated.
