Last year, the first week of school with K, I read The Most Magnificent Thing, then gave them various items (keva planks, LEGOs, etc) to build something magnificent. Then, they shared their creation with the other person at their table. If you have time, they could draw a “blue print” of their creation.

Read After the Fall and talk about doing hard things and not giving up (the hardest thing skill for Kinders in my classes!) They each draw a pic of doing something hard or trying something new. Then throughout the year we refer back to Humpty when challenges get tough and we need a reminder on doing hard things and perseverance! Be like Humpty!
