Maryam Ahmed | School Counselor | College Station ISD
Maryam started her career in education as a middle school science teacher. Her quest for engaging students in her own classroom led her to become an advocate for technology integration in her district. She currently serves a dual role on campus as the School Counselor and Campus Technology Facilitator at College Station Middle School. Maryam is passionate about teaching students digital citizenship and helping teachers create student-centered learning experiences. Her pet peeves include Comic Sans, poor design, and boring assignments, as she believes educators must strive to provide the "ultimate customer experience" for their students!

Maurie Beasley | Technology, MakerSpace, & Tech Coach | Llano ISD
Maurie Beasley started off in the private sector many years ago. She has owned a computer networking company, photography studio, restaurant, and B&B. She started teaching over 10 years ago and has brought her "World" knowledge into the classroom as a Maker Space teacher. She also brings her enthusiasm for technology into other classes through the Tech Coach program her and her husband (the Technology Director) started at LISD.

Diana Benner, M.Ed. | Director of Professional Development | TCEA
After 20 years in public education, as both a teacher and administrator, Diana joined the TCEA staff in May of 2014 as one of the Directors of Professional Development. In this position, Diana facilitates pd on the most current technology trends for the purpose of improving teaching and learning. She is a Google Certified Trainer, Google Certified Administrator and earned the Google Educator Level 1 and 2 certifications. Diana has experience teaching both students and professionals and enjoys sharing her love for technology.

Bruce Ellis, Ed.D. | Senior Director of Professional Development | TCEA
Dr. Bruce Ellis is the Senior Director of Professional Development for TCEA. Bruce assists teachers, librarians, administrators, and technology directors in gaining the skills necessary in the areas of integrating Google Apps for Education, iPads, project-based learning, flipping the classroom, 21st century skills, as well as other areas so they can effectively engage students in the classroom. Having been in the public education arena for more than 20 years, Bruce has taught elementary, secondary, and graduate level students. He has a masters in educational technology and an educational doctorate in curriculum, instruction, and assessment in secondary and higher education.

Lori Gracey is the executive director at TCEA. An educator for over 29 years, she began as a classroom teacher with Aldine ISD; she has been a technology director for 23 years. She is nationally and internationally recognized as an expert in educational technology, having presented at more than 650 conferences and workshops. Additionally, Lori has served with the International Society of Technology Education. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Mississippi University for Women; her master of arts degree is from the University of North Carolina.

Miguel earned both his Master’s degree in Bicultural/Bilingual Studies with an ESL Concentration and his B.A. at University of Texas, San Antonio. After 11 years as a high school Language Arts teacher I made the transition to the world of instructional technology and my toughest challenge ever--teaching teachers. As a Innovative Learning Specialist for Royse City ISD I get the privilege to help teachers navigate instruction in a digital age; specifically how to incorporate digital tools to positively impact learning. Misty Mitchell is a Learning Media Resource / Educational Technology Specialist on her campus at Hudson Middle school in Lufkin, TX which was chosen by TEA in 2015 as one of seven campuses in Texas using best practices. She is a Google Level 1 & 2 Certified Educator and specializes in use GAFE in the classroom and for campus collaboration and communication. Misty also works extensively with teachers on flipping techniques and how to use video effectively in the classroom, a skill she transfers into training for her campus. Peggy facilitates professional development with G-Suite for Education, LEGO MINDSTORMS robotics, makerspaces, anything Breakout EDU, and other current technology trends. Formally a public school teacher, she shared her passion for technology and her creative, hands-on approach with elementary students for 26 years. Peggy earned her M.S. in Educational Technology from Lesley University and her B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Montana – Billings.

Jana Wenzel | Assistant Director of Instructional Technology and Resources | Bryan ISD
Jana serves as the Assistant Director of Instructional Technology and Resources for Bryan ISD. In her role she leads the team of instructional technology specialists and oversees the Instructional Materials team and Library Services. This is Jana's 16th year in education, beginning her career as a middle school language arts teacher and then joined the Technology Services Department in 2009 as an Instructional Technology specialist. She had the opportunity to teach in a 1:1 environment, igniting her passion for effectively integrating technology into the core content curriculum. She loves collaborating with teachers, curriculum staff and technology support to encourage technology rich educational experiences that engage students in mastery as well as discovery learning.
