TCSAA East Region
2023-24 Boulder League
Intermediate students in grades 7 and 8 will be learning and competing in the sport of bouldering. We are thankful to Boulder Parc, who will be hosting the athletes of our Scarborough schools in this year's Boulder League.
WHAT IS BOULDERING?
Bouldering is a discipline of sport climbing on (indoor) rock walls without the use of ropes or a harness. Athletes will climb boulder problems that require problem solving skills and body positioning to reach a specific point on the rock wall.
IS BOULDERING SAFE?
Like any sport, there is risk of accident or injury. Students will be instructed by both Boulder Parc staff and coaches to safety climb their boulder problems. They will be taught how to climb down off the wall, fall properly while climbing and the general rules to follow to ensure their risks are minimized. Students will be supervised at all times by their coaches.
