Chapter Leadership

Meet Our Sponsor

Hello, my name is Dovie Turner. I am a long-time resident of Munford with strong family ties to this area. I graduated from Munford High in 1996 and continued my education at Jacksonville State University. I have been an FCS Educator and FCCLA Advisor since 2013. I came home in 2017 to fill the position of FCS teacher and FCCLA Advisor here at Munford High School. My role as FCCLA Advisor is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. I enjoy watching our members grow into strong young leaders. They have huge hearts and truly care about our school and community. I am extremely proud of them and I’m happy that I can help give them opportunities to grow as people, not just academically, but with a focus on their families (both current and future) and community. MHS FCCLA members are “Leaders with Pride.”

Voting Procedures:

FCCLA Service/Career Goals

I am the Vice-President in Promotion and Public Relations. One of my main goals for MHS FCCLA this year is to make it more known and really put it on the map. I have been in FCCLA for three years now and it just isn't as well known as it deserves to be. I plan on MHS FCCLA being actually talked about, all the events and activities we do to help our community should be known. With my position, I have to keep the social media and website updated. I have many plans for my position in FCCLA and I will work hard to be able to fulfill them! After I graduate, I plan on being a criminal investigator and I hope FCCLA gives me the ability to show how much of a confident leader and hard worker I can be!!

FCCLA Service/Career Goals

With my position at FCCLA, I am called to be efficient. I must be efficient and organized in every document in which I write out the details of our meetings. My service is to make sure that everything we discuss including the information and dates are known to our advisor and other members. My favorite service that I participated in was foster care awareness. This service ties into my future collegiate goals. I want to become a therapist and work with children and adults to improve their mental health. I believe that the service projects that we have done here at Munford High School as well as the position I am in will only encourage me and help me in the future.

FCCLA Service/Career Goals

I am the officer of community services, I believe that in order to help yourself and others you have to be willing to help your community and your peers around you. Being about to help out with my community is a life goal that I have. I strongly believe that people in this world need our help, the animals need our help. In FCCLA we do a lot of community service work. We love helping people anyway that we can. We save up money all year long and then during christmas time we spend all the money on buying lovely foster kids christmas presents. We try our best to make what we do help our community best. People need more support in the community and I feel as a club we provide just that. With helping with our community we give back and try to help as many people as possible. My service provided to the club is to give back to fccla as a whole. One day in the future I want to be a marine biologist and study marine science as well as aquatic mammals. I plan to go to college after I graduate from highschool. I love the ocean and anything that has to do with marine life.

FCCLA Service/Career Goals

I have always been described by both my educators and peers as articulate and academic, often being looked at as smarter than most. I have to say that’s not particularly true, it’s merely my application of the English language in many ways my peers have never really considered educating themselves on. The language I speak, alongside the written word, has always been subjects I’ve truly appreciated, even though many of my less articulated (however, just as intelligent) comrades could care less about the way they speak. I have often been looked to, by many of my schoolmates, as some sort of human dictionary or grammatical tool, often helping with written assignments. My FCCLA Editor-In-Chief position allows me to view any written works meant to benefit the club so that less errors are made and I find it quite enjoyable. Though educating individuals who could care less about grammar on their manner of speech can be rather frustrating, I still take pride in my position and I’m happy to help any who ask with their language, spelling, or grammatical presentation. Upon graduating from this excellent institution, I intend on going to college for Communication and Broadcasting studies. Perhaps I’ll find myself speaking into a microphone over a live radio or presenting topical subjects to individuals over live television. I’m actually quite excited for my life after High School and I intend on spreading the truth, for the truth will make one free.
