Join this workshop to learn practical strategies when dealing with complex behaviors. Mark A. Sloane, DO has been a board-certified practicing pediatrician for more than 38 years and is considered a local, regional, and statewide expert in the diagnosis/treatment of pediatric disorders of mood, behavior, learning, and attention. He has evaluated/treated 11,000 children with these disorders, and previously owned and operated a specialty practice in Kalamazoo limited to neurobehavioral / neurodevelopmental pediatrics. He also serves as a trauma-informed medical consultant and provides trauma-informed / FASD-informed training and consultation for a variety of child welfare agencies, community mental health groups, schools, courts, and primary care practices throughout Michigan and across the US.

Sloane, a 1979 graduate of Michigan State University – College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSU-COM), has completed specialized (fellowship) training in adolescent behavioral medicine at Michigan State University – Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies (MSU-KCMS). He is a founding member & current Medical Director of the Children’s Trauma Assessment Center (CTAC) at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI.

This workshop session will offer tips for families to build emotional resilience in kids Dr. Stilwill is an expert in behavioral therapy and she has worked extensively with children with various developmental disabilities in the classroom, home and medical setting. Her pediatric internship and residency were both at PBCGME Palms West Hospital. She also attended Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, MI and Denison University in Granville, OH.
