There are 100+ museums in New York City. However, most college students find that it is very difficult to know which art pieces to look at to get the most meaningful museum experience. And they often walk out of the museum without gaining much knowledge of the exhibits.

“Sometimes, we want to have meaningful learning experiences in museums but are hard to realize. Although there are introductions of artworks on the wall, most of the texts are very long. So, it is hard to focus on them all the time, especially when people are moving quickly around you.”
Park West Galley (2018):
“Four out of five Millennials said that art was important to them, the highest percentage of any age group.”
We realize that there is a huge need for improvement on this particular problem in this specific population. Both Millennials and GenY are much more interested in art than previous generations. Therefore, we hope to help them build more meaningful learning experiences by visiting museums.
Therefore, based on interviews and research, we think these learning goals and objectives are most suitable for them.
Learning Goal
To learn art systematically and actively, and apply the knowledge of arts with real-world contexts.
Learning Objectives
To understand the history of art and artists through engaging e-learning materials, such as audio, text, and visuals.
To connect different art concepts, and form own perceptions about art and artists.
To deepen prior knowledge gained through e-learning by exploring local museum resources.
To enhance the learning experience while visiting museums.
