Learning environments of museums
Some museums provide the audio tour. In this way, college students will not follow a real person but will learn through listening to audio.
Other museums provide QR codes for visitors to scan on the wall. Some museums require visitors to put on headphones to listen to instructions. Most museums have free Wifi for visitors to connect.
For college students, they are quite familiar with these technologies. And their level of experience varies based on prior knowledge and experiences.
For real-person instructors, their instructions would be different for different groups of people. Usually, they would have a basic template of what should be included in the tour, and they can add other things based on the template. For audio instructors, there is a fixed tour template, which cannot be customized.
There is no common hardware in museums. Hardware, such as microphones and digital screens, is not necessary for museum tours but some museums might use them to enhance learning.
Online learning environment
Similar to museums, users will be self-driven to use apps. Instruction materials would include video, audio, and text. People can learn things at their own pace or follow the rhythm of online courses (following unit by unit).
People need to download the app through the app store or other stores. And they can interact with the interface. For college students, we believe they are familiar with how to use apps on their phones. Its interface should be easy to understand and follow. Content and teaching forms can be pretty flexible for online learning.
