About the Assignment

• Assignment Name: Worksheet design and presentation on Youtube videos

• Instructor: Mr. Lee/ Grade level: 10-11th Grade

• Abstract: To complete this assignment, students need to (1) form a group of four, (2) select a 4-5 minute Youtube video spoken in English based on their common interest, (3) design a worksheet based on the video, including a vocabulary list, 5 multiple choice questions, and a set of questions in forms other than multiple choice (matching, true/false, etc.), (4) play the video to the class, and (5) lead the class to finish the worksheet after watching the video.

• Rationale: This assignment is designed to invite students to introduce videos they like to the class. Since it is an English listening class, the teacher often uses Youtube videos as materials and designs worksheets for students. However, there are topics that students are interested in not covered in the teacher's selection. Students need to understand the video thoroughly, which sharpens their listening skills. Moreover, through this group assignment, students are able to share what they like with the class and experience being a teacher.

• Assessment: Vocabulary list 20%; question design 40%; formatting and graphic design20%; peer evaluation 20%. After presentation, each group needs to submit a group work division chart and a peer evaluation sheet.
