Online Blockchain for Learning Portfolio

Nowadays online portfolio often contains scattered and limited information.

Students' Learning Portfolio contains specific break-down learning points which are uploaded to Blockchain.

Students' data will be converted into hash and uploaded to public blockchain which can be verified by external parties through public access (e.g. future schools, scholarship and/or awards application authorities). Hashing is a cryptographic technology protecting actual students' data which only will be held by themselves and teachers.

After each lesson, students and teachers who own separate private keys will make multi-signature transaction to mark down learning processes and reflections. This can help preventing cheating or frauds.

An Ethereum public blockchain will be our target tool which should require low transaction fee, offer fast transaction speed and large storage size.

Learning by Doing / Maker Education / Simulating

Learning occurs when learners' use their bodies and sense in learning process. Constructing and creating concrete artifacts that are personally meaningful can facilitate learners' knowledge construction and cognitive development. Actual coding, sending transactions, creating models, designing are also ways of learning by practically doing.

Collaborative Learning

Peer learning and collaborative learning are empirical models of learning that evidenced how people learn from social interaction. Knowledge construction occurs through social interaction, which could be with human peers, artifacts and environment.

Imaginary Play

Learners engage in pretend play acting and behaving in a specific thing in a playful environment. The imaginary play has the potential to help children's cognitive, symbolic and social ability.

Multimodel Approach

Integrating multimodal (multiple modalities) assessment offers teachers and parents a more complete and accurate pictures of students' knowledge construction than the transitional standardized assessment.

Process-Oriented

Unlike the traditional assessment, we place focus on the progress rather than the result. We use process-oriented assessment to measure students' learning outcomes - offering them various methods to present what they have learned and how they could apply knowledge to the real-world settings.

Designed in a playful way presenting how STEM concepts and computational thinking are executed in our daily life. The playful personalized features motivate children's positive, "I can" mentality in STEM education.
