Certificate Program

Participants who complete all nine modules of the core EF Curriculum can earn a certificate from the CyberAmbassadors program, which is the NSF-funded source of the curriculum used for EF.

In order to earn the certificate participants must complete a minimum of nine hours of interactive training, which must include at least one hour of content from each of the nine modules. Participants are responsible for completing the attendance form for each session, and must use the same email address each time since this is the unique identifier used to track progress. Certificates are typically emailed to participants within 2-3 weeks of completing all of the required training.

In person certificate programs are available through some universities and employers; those sessions are typically for a specific audience and arranged by a local facilitator. The certificate program is also offered online several times per year; these sessions are open to everyone. Participants may mix-and-match in person and online training in order to earn the certificate, as long as they complete the minimum of one hour of training from each of the nine modules.

Online Training

The certificate program is offered online as a series of three-hour sessions. Each session covers one major topic (Communications, Teamwork, Leadership) and in order to earn the certificate participants must complete all nine hours of training across the three sessions. These are highly interactive sessions with small and large group activities that require speaking, listening and typing. Participants will need access to appropriate technology (computer, microphone, webcam, speakers/headphones, web browsers, high speed internet) and a sufficiently private/quiet space where they can fully engage in training.
