Reflection # 6
Career Inquiry
Reflect on how you went during your inquiry. What did you learn?
How was your start to this year different to last year? (Look back to your Ancestry Inquiry reflection)
Explain how you worked toward your goals and how it helped your learning. What worked? What didn’t? What will you do differently next time?
Write your reflection here...
My first Inquiry of the year went pretty well I think this was because I put a lot of work into it and actually wanted to do the topic.
The Career Inquiry was really useful as it made me aware of the path to my career of choice.
How do I feel about my second year of Inquiry now that I’ve spent 4 weeks in it? I was a bit rusty at the start so I found it quite difficult to get back into the inquiry process. But I am looking forward to the rest of the years inquiry's.
It was a different start for me this year because I understood the inquiry process and actually knew how to use my device properly.
One of my goals was to be committed by working on this goal it helped me to improve my learning because I stayed with my project although I didn't really want to be doing it.
The goal I did the best with was finding solutions to complex problems the reason it went so well was because I wanted to find solutions because it will help me in my future career.
I was a bit frustrated with how one goal went because the inquiry went so fast.
Next time I will try and get a level 6 on my inquiry.
Evidence of Term 1 goals being met.
Copy and paste all relevant evidence in the form of screenshots or written explanations of what was done to achieve your 4 goals for Term 1.
e.g. Test results, teacher feedback, parent feedback, peer feedback, your own explantion of things you did etc.
Commitment and work ethic in my inquiry's.
2. Designs and implements solutions to complex problems Such as being deployed to dangerous countries in my careers inquiry.
3. the Physical part of my Hauora this will obviously prepare me for a future career in the army.
4. Understands how their identity is shaped by their experience culture and place in history.
5E. A really good report and use of expert and research to answer your questions effectively. To improve you could have considered alternatives if things don’t pan out the way you planned e.g. injury or passed over for leadership. More detail into “why” or “how” when it comes to ideas like which activities would help develop your competencies/qualities.
To get to level 6 include a more detailed and reflective approach to your timesheet and reflections e.g. why was the first week so hard and took so long to get back into things?
For presentation, look to scan the room and involve the audience more.
