How might we solve the problem of getting up in the morning on time and feeling refreshed on a school day /morning for students at TBC.

1# Introduction :

Problems are everywhere but what are they. In this piece of informative writing,g it will be made very clear what defines a problem and what makes something a problem .and how innovation is needed to fix problems. There are problems every day that we encounter from a car crash to our phone not being charged these are just some of the many problems we have to overcome daily. we usually use innovation to fix these problems or we don't fix them at all in this report will tell you innovation has been used in New Zealand for America's cup, what innovation is and what are problems? these will be answered in this report I hope you enjoy the read.

2# What is a problem:

We as humans encounter problems every day without even realising it. But what are these problems we face mostly without thought? Some may describe a problem as something unwanted, others may describe a problem as an obstacle. You could even describe it as something harmful and needing attention. But are these correct? The answer is yes. most obstacles are problems as they require a solution to fix them. Some problems don't have a current solution but they are still problems as they require a solution to fix them, for example, global warming is a very big problem but does not have a current solution to fix it .problems can come in all shapes and sizes from ones that as a learning curve some can not ever be solved and some will take a long time to find a solution, in short, there is a lot of different types of problems. I think that a problem is learning and improving opportunity for me to make myself the best I can be and to learn from what caused the problem so know not to do what caused the problem.

3# Innovation

Innovation is everywhere from the laptop I'm using right now to the house I live in. It is a crucial part of human nature. Everywhere you look innovation is being performed by humans. It is made to make our lives even better. However, it can come with some consequences to our environment. Such as global warming, mounds of plastic is covering large areas of land. Vast majorities of pollution are pumping through the air. These are all some of the bad things that have come from innovation. There is a saying to fix or fight something you need to use it to fix it. I think that everyone has seen the amount of trash and rubbish floating around in the breeze but innovation is needed to help fix these pollution problems our environment is coping with. Here are some words that I found on a website called pollution effects, OMICS they say that shortly there will be innovation to completely stop global warming and to turn the pollution on our planet around to almost nothing. they think that they could use bugs and mould to eat plastic and special filters to get all the carbon and toxic gases out of the area and to put it back in the ground.

I think that innovation has not caused more good things than bad things. I also think that without innovation we would not be here today as we are now. Innovation is crucial to evolving and getting better as a human I am always looking at how to make or improve something at home in my shed as that's how we as humans work.

4# What are different ways of solving a problem?

All problems are different and there is not a straightforward solution to fixing one. One of the best ways to solve a problem is to set some goals like what you want to improve or make, Brainstorm possible solutions then Rule out any obvious poor options, Examine the consequences, Identify the best solutions, Put your solutions into practice if it does not work repeat the cycle. If it does not need fixing then you're done. here is some information from the study academy they say that most of the workforce realise on the problem-solving taken builder, for example, you would think that building is pretty straight forward look at the plans and build what it tells you to but it reqiers a lot more thought and problem-solving to build first they have to get the materials on site some times it can be on a mountain or an island so that takes a lot of problem-solving and if you have to do this for every step of the build. so you see how many people in the workforce have to problem-solve constantly. so if you can problem solve then it will make you be able to have a lot more success. I think problem-solving is key to succeeding if you can do that well then it will give you a much higher chance of getting employed and being successful I know it is not just used in the workforce for instance I use it to clean my room and when some in my family get grumpy then you need problems solving to help them get happier.

5# What are problems we face here at school:

Tauranga Boys College faces problems every day from boys breaking rules to thing not working or going to plan. So what are some of the big problems here at school?. Some may say the people at school but we can not do much about people so what are some other problems we have here at school I have narrowed it down to gaming and rainy days at school for this though have chosen to look into rainy days here at school. When it rains at school it is usually very miserable for the students. I can personally say that when it rains it is very miserable and wet we are not allowed proper rain jackets and you're not allowed to stay in the class the only way to stay warm is to sit in the gym which is quite crowded when it rains think the best way to stop the problem of getting wet and cold on a school day is to either let the student use raincoats for to make some more classrooms open to for students on rainy days.

6# How has design thinking solved a problem in NZ in the last five years:

New Zealand is known for some of the most useful inventions like making the fridge or the plan but what is an innovation that happening made in the last 5 years. in this piece of writing, I'm going to talk about the new foils for boat .they have being put in America's Cup boats. A Short Rundown of America's cup. America's Cup is a race that takes place every 4 years it takes place in the winners home country. The race is performed by boats to see who can sail the best this race happened 1 year ago in this race it was revealed that the New Zealand team had come up with a way to turn their boats while still foiling it. The way these foils work is by lifting one side of the foil the boat terns and then the boat puts the foil down when the boat has finished turning. The reasoning for the one foil lifting is so it can stay in the air when turning. this was invented so the boats can maneuver faster and more efficiently when foiling above the water. i think that it has been quite a big innovation for foils for boats as I sail quite a bit so this has being a very good invention that will help the boat racing community forever as for the design thinking this has to be very useful invention.

7# conclusion:

To conclude a very peculiar topic, To fix a problem you need to innovate in the order you need a problem to fix. Problems need innovation to be fixed both problems and innovation are used every day in our scarcity. without innovation and problems, the human race would probably still be cavemen in the stone age or even be dead as they can not get food or water. Without problems, we as humans would still be cavemen today with no form of communication or tools. and without innovation, we would not have any form of communication or civilisations we would be dead as we would not eat drink or keep warm by fires. as you see innovation and problems are crucial to living and evolving as humans just think about what we would not have without it there would be no way to get food or drink would be no houses or clothes. It is astonishing to think that without these two things we as humans would probably be dead. I think that there are lots more things like innovation and problems that without we would not be here as we are today as we are like curiosity or disasters I think that these would be a cool topic that I could look into next time.
