There is no record of a killer whale attacking, or attempting to seriously harm a human being whilst in the wild. There are however, a few instances where they have harmed people whilst in marine aquariums and in captivity. This is usually only when they feel threatened or are emotionally unstable. Killer whales are more or less seen as entertainment to many people and as a result many of these animals are taken from their pods and put into an all to small enclosure where they are to be trained and perform shows for the rest of their lives, this causes a lot of emotional stress on the killer whales which can lead to the incidents of them harming their trainers. Killer whales are also hunted and used for a number of things, in many parts of the world, they are used for their oil and meat. The meat of a killer whale is sold for consumption and also used as bait.
