Vocal Studies (NEW)
Year 10 Elective
Course Description
In this subject students have the opportunity to explore music through singing in a solo and group context. Vocal Studies will develop students’ singing and performance skills, abilities and confidence. It will also investigate and study musicianship (theory), vocal anatomy and health, while supporting the practical skills being learned. Students will engage in choral arrangements and performances. Vocal Studies will give students the opportunity to connect with various cultural backgrounds in addition to their own through research and performance.
Students can undertake both Vocal Studies and Music at the same time, as the content and learning outcomes explored are different. These students should also consider Music Performance for VCE.
Year 10 Vocal Studies is offered to students in both Semester 1 & 2. This subject is a great way to immerse in the Performing Arts program at Tarneit Senior College, where students can participate in college events including concerts, musicals, assemblies and other more informal performances.
