10 Music
Year 10 Elective
Course Description
In this subject students have the opportunity to perform using vocals or an instrument in a group and/or solo context . Prior experience in playing an instrument is not essential, but is preferred. Students will learn social and cultural influences on different musical styles, beginner and intermediate musicianship, and will develop their aural awareness.
For students undertaking music for the second time, they will be able to focus on performing more challenging repertoire in addition to more advanced music theory. These students should consider Music Performance for VCE.
Year 10 Music is offered to students in both Semester 1 & 2. Music is a great way to become part of the Performing Arts program at Tarneit Senior College, where students can participate in college events including concerts, musicals, assemblies and other more informal performances.
