Course Description

Tarneit Senior College is committed to ensuring all students have an opportunity to explore and understand possible career paths. In order to access some of these paths it is important students continue to develop their interpersonal skills as well as acquire a sound knowledge of future directions.

Throughout the year all students will be involved in Pastoral Care. This program aims to support students throughout their time at Tarneit Senior College and provide students with the required knowledge and resources they can utilise as they leave senior school and enter their relevant pathway. This includes exploring a variety of resources and strategies to effectively develop social and emotional wellbeing, such as respectful relationships, interpersonal skills and strategies to deal with stress. Furthermore, students will explore various career modules to assist them in discovering their future career pathway and equip with all the necessary skills and resources. This includes individual meetings with the careers counsellor, applying for a tax file number, writing a resume, undertaking volunteer work and much more.

Patsoral Care Outcomes

The Pastoral Care  program is an important part of the school curriculum and therefore will be reported on at the end of each semester. As a result, students will need to ensure they participate fully in class and aim to acheive the following outcomes:

Outcome 3 - Educational & Career Development
