Peer supporters are trained students who offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you to pause, reflect, and talk things through with someone closer to your own student experience.
Through metaphoric card exploration, our peer supporters offer presence, listening, and reflection, one card at a time.
Becoming a peer supporter is more than volunteering —
it is a journey of growth, learning, and human connection. 🫂
A series of structured training by Student Counselling Services (SCS) counsellors, covering basic helping skills, ethics, boundaries, and the facilitation of metaphoric card exploration.
After training, peer supporters serve on duty under SCS coordination, providing metaphoric card exploration sessions to fellow peers.
All peer supporters on duty attend regular group supervision sessions facilitated by SCS counsellors, ensuring ethical practice, reflective learning, and continuous skill development.
Behind every peer supporter is a journey of learning, empathy, and connection.
Listen to our peer supporters share how the experience shaped their university journey.
