Frequently Asked Questions 

When does the program start and end?

The Holland Extended Day Program will begin on the first day of school, August 28, 2024. The before school program will run up until the last day of school (day 180). The after school program will run until the last full day of school (day 179). The after school program will not be available on the last day of school. 

What are the hours of the extended day program?

• The morning portion of our program runs from 6:30 am until start of the school day. 

• The afternoon runs for 3:00-5:00pm. Program closes promptly at 5pm. 

• Half days when open 12pm-5pm. Program closes promptly at 5pm.

What happens if I am late to pick my child up?

If your child/children are signed out after 5:00pm from the after school program you will receive an email and be charged a flat rate of $50.00. If this happens more than once your child will not be allowed to stay at the program. 

When do bills come out and what do they reflect?

Your billing statement will be emailed out on every Friday. It will reflect any outstanding balance and the previous week tuition. It also may include any field trip fees. All payments should be made by the following Friday. 

The HES Tax I.D number will be provided upon request. 

Can I change my Childs schedule?

If changes need to be made to your Childs dismissal procedure. Please email  holland@tantasqua.org  and Moranh@tantasqua.org before noon on that given day. We are a flexible program and we base daily staffing off the number of students attending. 

What if my Childs schedule changes last minute?

To ensure the safety of students, daily changes in schedules necessitate a note to  holland@tantasqua.org and an e-mail to the program coordinator Moranh@tantasqua.org. If there is no E-mail and no note, your child will be dismissed according to their normal dismissal routine. 

What if the weather is bad?

We are closed on snow days. If school is dismissed early due to inclement weather, the HES program will also be closed.  There is no morning program if there is a two hour delay. Please have a backup plan in case of a snow emergency. 

Is snack or lunch provided?

Children will have time for an after-school snack at 3:00 pm each day. Due to food allergies, snacks must be provided from home. Please remember to include a drink. A refillable water bottle is best.  * Due to food sensitivities the after school program WILL NOT provide snacks to children. On half-days a bagged lunch needs to be provided from home, same allergy rules apply. 

Who can pick my child up?

Any adult listed on your child’s registration as "authorized adults to pick up my child". ID's will be checked if a staff member doesn’t recognize the adult picking your child up. If there is any reason someone shouldn’t pick your child up (court ordered), please inform the HES staff. 

How is discipline handled?

If children consistently do not meet the behavioral expectations the below procedure will be followed: Parents of students who are disrespectful and disruptive to the program will be notified

1. A verbal warning will be given to the child and parent. 

2. A written warning will be given to the child and parent. 

3. The child will be removed from the program for the remainder of the year. 

Please note, the above may be adjusted based on the severity of the incident. In the event the incident is dangerous or destructive the child may be asked to not return to the program without following the above process. 

How much does the HES program cost?

The tuition of the program will be $6 per hour (or any part of an hour) for the first child enrolled. The tuition costs of the program will be $2.00 per hour or any part of an hour for each additional child of the same household. 

*Families will also cover any additional field trip cost per student when they sign them up. 

An hour, as defined by this program is 60 minutes or any portion of 60 minutes that care is provided. Hours are as follows: If your child/children are signed in to the before school program before 7:15 am you will be charged for 2 hours that day. If your child/children are signed out after 4:00pm from the after school program you will be charged for two hours that day. If your child/children are signed out after 5:00pm from the after school program you will be charged a fee of $50.00. If this happens more than once your child/children will be dismissed from the program. 

Do you accept vouchers?

At this time, we do not accept any state vouchers for tuition.
