The Singing Tors:
Choir is made up of two classes: Beginning Choir and Advanced Choir, with Beginning Choir as a prerequisite for the Advanced Choir.
The choirs each have three primary performances every year: a Christmas Concert, a Black History Month program, and a Spring Concert that combines both the Beginning and Advanced Choirs together.
The Advanced Choir students also have additional opportunities for performances. Here are some examples of events they participated in over the years:
The Advanced Choir sings the National Anthem to open up the Homecoming Football Game every year.
For the last two years, the Advanced Choir has had the opportunity to participate in performances with the Louisiana State University and the Southeastern Louisiana University choirs!
Each year, the Advanced Choir also competes in the LMEA District IX Large Choral Ensemble Assessment, where they sing their music in front of judges in hopes for a trophy. Last year, they did so well on stage and in their sight-reading that they earned an award!
In 2021, the Advanced Choir performed in the final school board meeting before Christmas break.
In 2019, the Advanced Choir had the opportunity to sing with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in their annual Christmas Concert.
