HOW TO EARN COURSE CREDIT
Note Rolling Deadlines: Interning Fall 2024: Apply by August 1; Interning Spring 2025: Apply by December 1; Interning Summer 2025: Apply by May 1.
Step 1: Accept internship offer.
Step 2: Complete the RWFM Internship Form (https://tx.ag/rwfminterns). Preview the questions on the application here. You must submit your application online.
Step 3: Internship committee will review and determine if the internship meets RWFM expectations (see FAQs).
Step 4: Once application is complete and your internship is verified by department, the intern will be enrolled in the online asynchronous RWFM/WFSC 484 course.
Step 5: Complete the internship working hours, the online course, and have your site supervisor submit evaluation.
Under approval of a department head, students are able to earn up to 9 hours of internship credits. Internships must be practical, learning-based experiences in a professional setting and relating to your degree tract. The Undergraduate Internship & Research Partner Program is organized to auto-enroll selected students into their respective course, however the student is responsible for all course work to achieve their desired final grade. RWFM 484 is the department's internship course.
As a junior, senior, or through instructor approval, students are able to earn up to 6 hours of research credits. Research can be either laboratory or field-based experiences relating to your degree tract. The Undergraduate Internship & Research Partner Program is organized to auto-enroll selected students into their respective course, however the student is responsible for all course work to achieve their desired final grade. RWFM 491 is the department's research course. RWFM Academic Advisor, in partnership with student and faculty research supervisor, will enroll student in RWFM 491.
