Dr. Clint Magill is a professor in the Texas A&M Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology and is a member of the Faculties of Genetics and Molecular and Environmental Plant Sciences. His research currently focuses on interactions between several fungal pathogens and sorghum. He is attempting to identify genes in sorghum that confer resistance to anthracnose, head smut and downy mildew as well as identifying the basis for race specificity in the causal pathogens.
Danyka is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology at Texas A&M University. Her research integrates dual-transcriptomics and genome-wide association studies (GWAS) to identify novel virulence factors in Colletotrichum sublineola. She aims to build a comprehensive effector database to support functional validation, genetic transformation, and the development of improved disease-resistant breeding programs.
Undergraduate Student, Biochemistry
Hailey is an undergraduate student in the Department of Biochemistry at Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on developing protocols to generate competent protoplasts in Colletotrichum sublineola and optimizing genetic transformation methods for this pathogen.
