Dr. Clint Magill is a professor in the Texas A&M Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology and is a member of the Faculties of Genetics and Molecular and Environmental Plant Sciences. His research currently focuses on interactions between several fungal pathogens and sorghum. He is attempting to identify genes in sorghum that confer resistance to anthracnose, head smut and downy mildew as well as identifying the basis for race specificity in the causal pathogens.
Coumba is a PhD candidate in the Plant Pathology and Microbiology department at Texas A&M. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Agronomical Sciences and Master of Science in Plant Production and Agronomy at Université Gaston Berger in Saint-Louis, Senegal. In the Magill Lab, Coumba studies sorghum pathogen resistance and host-pathogen interactions.
Danyka is a PhD student in the Plant Pathology and Microbiology department at Texas A&M. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. In the Magill Lab, Danyka's work centers around understanding host-pathogen interactions between sorghum and Colletrotichum sublineola using RNA/DNA sequencing and bioinformatics.
Saradha is a research assistant in the Plant Pathology and Microbiology department at Texas A&M. She obtained her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biology from Madurai Kamaraj University in India. In the Magill Lab, she is responsible for streamlining research by executing experiments and collecting data.
