Meet our Leadership Team
Dr. Stacey D. Lyle is a Professor of Practice at Texas A&M University with a Joint Appointment in the Zachry Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Department of Geography. He has been recognized in both departments for teaching excellence in his delivery of student-centered learning. Dr. Lyle is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor, licensed to practice in Texas and Georgia. He is active in the industry with more than 35 years’ experience in stamping and sealing professional surveys as well as researching, engineering, and developing innovative geospatial technologies and software in partnership with research universities and industry. He has served as an expert witness on complex land boundaries and intellectual property legal issues nationally and internationally. Examples of industry success include serving as the Director of Machine Automation at Leica Geosystems, Team Lead of Geomatics at BP North America, and Hydrographic Marine Construction Surveyor for Fugro. Dr. Lyle was awarded Faculty Research Fellowships at both NASA and USDA. Currently, he serves on the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) as a Commissioner and as an ABET Team Chair Reviewer, assuring that accredited universities meet global standards essential to preparing graduates to enter STEM fields on an international scale. Dr. Sommerfeld graduated from Texas A&M University with her PhD and MS in Horticultural Sciences and BS in Agricultural Leadership and Development. Since graduating she has worked on grant funded projects on local agriculture, education, and gardening. Dr. Sommerfeld is a board member for Texas Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association and attended the Mitchel Institute for Physics Enhancement Program last summer. Dr. Sommerfeld currently teaches Chemistry and Physics at Aggieland High School and is excited to be joining the Camp BUILD team this summer.
Ms. Marvin graduated from Tulane University with a BA in English Literature. Since graduating she has managed the operations for a wide range of businesses, from a local web service firm to a farm-to-table restaurant. Now, Ms. Marvin is the office manager for the Undergraduate Student Services & Advising Center for the Civil & Environmental Engineering department. Beyond the office, she loves enjoying the outdoors but also a quiet day with a good book, the company of a happy dog, and freshly bakes bread cooling in the kitchen. Ms. Marvin's top tip for an optimal academic path: make yourself known in the advising office. Your advisor is a great resource to keep you on track, grounded, and thinking ahead.
Mr. Finley graduated from Texas A&M University with his BS in Animal Science and MEd in Science Curriculum and Instruction. Currently, Mr. Finley teaches chemistry, physics, and computer science, along with being the varsity golf coach at Allen Academy. He has been teaching for 26 years with 12 of them being at Allen Academy. Out of the classroom, Mr. Finley enjoys spending time with his family outdoors at their ranch and at the golf course. He loves starting his week off right by attending church on Sundays with his family.
Meet our Counselors 2025
Zsolt is a Mechanical Engineering major in the Class of 2028. During his time at Texas A&M, he has enjoyed participating in RAMPS, an organization that builds wheelchair ramps in collaboration with the Texas Ramp Project. Zsolt is also a Site Manager for Aggie Replant, the organization in charge of the Replant Day tradition. During his free time he enjoys running and playing volleyball. Zsolt also loves planning and designing, whether it’s using SolidWorks software, interior design or just plain organization and sorting.
Asbah is a General Engineering major who just completed her first year at Texas A&M University. For the 2025 - 2026 school year, she is excited to be an RA for on campus housing! Beyond her studies, Asbah is part of the fencing club and the 12th Can. WHen she's not studying or on the move, she is likely find her crocheting, crafting, or adding to her growing sticker collection!
Oscar is a Computer Science major from Katy, Texas who is a loud and proud member of the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 2028. As a Galveston A&M transfer, Oscar is excited to spend this year exploring all that Texas A&M at College Station has to offer. Outside of his studies, Oscar loves rock climbing, programming, and connecting with fellow Aggies.
Westin is a Civil Engineering major in the Class of 2028. He is currently part of the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at San Antonio and will be transitioning to Texas A&M University's main campus this Fall for his first on-campus semester. Westin is excited to join the Hullabaloo Band and plans to be involved with the TAMU Engineering Symphony. Outside of academics, he enjoys playing volleyball and is passionate about music, playing instruments like the bass guitar, sousaphone, and trombone.
Jason is a Civil Engineering major from Zephyr, Texas, and a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2025. During his time at Texas A&M, he has gained hands-on experience as a lab technician in the Civil Engineering Materials Lab. Outside the classroom, Jason serves as the head advisor for Aggie Bonfire, where he plays a key role in guiding and preserving this rich Aggie tradition. In his free time, he enjoys playing 42 and shooting pool.
Kayla recently graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering and will be continuing her academic journey this fall as a Ph.D. student in the same field at Texas A&M. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she contributed to several research projects, with a focus on polymers and ceramics. In her spare time, Kayla enjoys traveling, catching the occasional baseball game, and spending time with her cat, Goose.
