*** Please note: units are no longer permitted to conduct their own election, and must use a chapter election team in order for the results to be valid. ***
Elections are a fundamental process for the Order of the Arrow. It is the process in which scouts will nominate their fellow peers for the honor of induction as an Ordeal Member.
If your unit needs an election, please get in contact with the Chapter Leadership to begin the process of scheduling an election date.
If any unit wishes to have an informational presentation about the Order of the Arrow before scheduling an election, please reach out also and we can coordinate a presentation.
Election season begins in January. During this month, election scheduling will open.
The Unit Leader and/or Committee Chair should receive a link with their unit's link to schedule their election in their email, titled "Schedule Your OA Unit Election".
If you are having trouble finding the link, check your spam folder first. If you still cannot find it, contact the Chapter Adviser and a new link can be sent to you.
If we sent an election team - or an informational presentation team - to your unit, please fill out a feedback form to let us know how it went.
These elections are not a popularity contest, but instead a nomination for an honor. So you might wonder how to keep elections from being one.
The Scouting Blog has a wonderful article regarding this important piece of information.
