Yoga and Me:

I have  employed Yoga in my own life for the past 20 years. I enjoy this ancient practice that connects the mind, body, and spirit through poses, mindful breathing, and meditation. I have been teaching Yoga since 2017 (qualified Level 1 teacher with Byron Bay Yoga Centre). I have been teaching  trauma aware yoga since 2021.

About my classes:

My yoga classes are not focused on fitness, exercise or performance. It is not about how well you can do the pose or how precisely you copy the instructor.

My classes are about getting to know your body from the inside (interoception) and practicing slow, gentle, mindful movement over and over in order to shift the nervous system from the stress response to the relaxation response. The side effects are increased mobility, balance, strength and social connection.

In the sessions we use awareness, repetition, focus and joy. These are the four ingredients for neuroplasticity that can help with rewiring the brain to increase mind-body connection and contribute to inner wellbeing.

What people say:

2023 from Susan: "I was introduced to yoga with Tamar almost a year ago. It was one of the best decisions I have made. I have enjoyed classes in both the studio and the park.

Due to a back injury, I was experiencing stiffness, poor posture, reduced mobility and a general decline in my mental well-being.

With Tamar's guidance in the practice of yoga and her calm nature, I have achieved significant improvements. My pain is gone, with no need for ongoing medication. I am physically more flexible, strong and comfortable with the balance / movement of my body.

Tamar encourages a holistic approach to yoga, which I feel has also helped me feel centred emotionally. I practice several times each week and feel energised moving forward.

Tamar’s gift is to support you in working with your abilities, whilst encouraging and supporting you as you learn.

To anyone out there who has been hesitant to join – I can only say that I am so happy I took that step.

Thank you, Tamar, for all you do".
