Learning Intentions: 

• Define light as a form of energy

• Identify the sources of light

• Understand that light is a part of the Electromagnetic Spectrum 

• State the visible part of the spectrum - ROYGBIV

• Identify the differences in colors based on the number of waves (frequency) and their length

• Identify that the “invisible” is of two types - UV and IR

• Identify the processes by which light energy travels. (with or without medium)

• Describe the properties of light and how it behaves when presented with clear, translucent and opaque surfaces

• State the laws of reflection of light

• Understand the laws of refraction of light.
