PB4L

All teachers new to Tamaki College do the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) course with the RTLB Service. This course teaches teachers to explain the behaviour they wish to see rather than focussing on the behaviour that is inappropriate. For example, if you have asked the students to close their devices while you are giving instructions you would then thank the individual students who have done so rather than loudly reprimand those that haven't as this damages the classroom environment for all students. "Teaching for Positive Behaviour" is worth reading and the self assessment tool is useful as evidence for certification (see below)
