Common Testing Issues

• Reset the screen resolution with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + 0 (zero), then click the blue "refresh" on the screen.

• In order for students to join your map session, they must be in “Awaiting Student” status.  This happens automatically when you start a testing session.  For one reason or another, students may have to rejoin an existing session, and if they do, follow these steps to get their name to appear & get them into the testing session.
  • If the student's current status is "Confirmed or To Be Confirmed" -> Choose that student & under the action menu, select "Do Not Confirm"
  • If the student's current status is "Testing" -> Select that student & under the action menu, select "Suspend" (make sure the student is still selected) and choose the "Test Again" action.
  • If the student's current status is "Suspended" -> Select that student & under the action menu, select "Test Again" 
  • Once you have corrected the student's Status to "Awaiting Student,' they can either return to the main login screen or click the black refresh arrow on the screen where they find their name.

1. Reset the question by clicking the “Reset” button in the bottom left hand corner of their screen.
2. Zoom back out by pressing Ctrl + - (minus), because sometimes the test gets zoomed in to where you can't see the "Reset" or "Next" arrow.  
3. Use the Proctor Interrupt Pin, which is found on the upper right of the Test Administration screen:
   1. Press Ctrl + Shift + P on the student's computer
   2. Enter the PIN on the student's screen.
   3. Choose to "Resume" the test on the student's screen, which gives them a new question.
4. Choose the student on the Test Administration screen, choose "Select Action > Suspend." Then, choose the student again and "Select Action > Test Again." & have the student log back in. (It will save their progress automatically).

• For convenience, obtain or memorize the Proctor PIN for this testing session.
• Quietly encourage the student to take their time to think of the best answer for every question. Avoid helping the student answer the test questions.
• Use the controls on your test administration screen (click the alert box, select names, and click Resume).

• If the student's return time is less than 30 minutes, Select the student -> under the Action menu choose "Pause." When the student returns, select the student again & choose "Resume" under the action menu.
• If the student's return time is more than 30 minutes, Select the student -> under the Action menu choose "Suspend"." When the student returns, select the student again & choose "Test Again" under the action menu. (This is if they will return to the same testing session. If they are done for your testing session or for the day, just do the first step, choose suspend & then when the are logged into a new testing session, their status will already be "Awaiting Student")

1. Make sure to allow pop-ups.
2. Close all other windows (if remote, leave Zoom / Google Meet open).
3. Reset screen resolution (see Issue 1).
