About Your Teachers

Miss Gustavel

Miss Gustavel is entering her 19th year in the Tallmadge City School District and cannot wait to see her active students again! Besides teaching physical education, she loves spending time with her family, friends and her two cats Ollie and Otis. Growing up, playing sports was a huge interest which led to her earning a softball scholarship to Cleveland State University where she graduated with a bachelors degree in Physical Education and Health. Miss Gustavel enjoys creating mandala dot art and putting together intricate Lego projects in her free time.

Mrs. Crawford

A few interesting facts about Mrs. Crawford...I enjoy exercising!! A few of my favorites are walking, hiking, bike riding, and playing volleyball. My favorite season is summer because it is so warm and absolutely love the sunny weather. I also enjoying growing flowers and gardening. My favorite flowers are roses. I have a rose garden at my house and enjoy added different colors of roses to it each year!! Another thing that I value is family! In my free time, I enjoy family activities like cook outs, picking blueberries at family blueberry farm, and playing games with my four nieces. Very excited to teach all of my students this 2020-2021 school year!

This School Year

This school year PE will definitely look different than in years past. Due to the school schedule, physical education will be 30 minutes long and will be 10 days in a row to minimize exposure. Miss Gustavel's and Mrs. Crawford's current plan is to provide a more individual skills-based curriculum. PE instruction will be held in the brand new Tallmadge Elementary Gymnasium. This school year, safety has to be the number one priority, all skill-based instruction will comply with the 6 foot physical distance protocol. Masks will be used when 6 foot physical distancing could be compromised due to movement/transitions with equipment or instruction. When 6 foot physical distance is achieved with activity, students will be allowed with teacher permission to remove masks during physical activity. This protocol is in compliance with The Ohio Department of Health Physical Activity Order. In response to safety, all PE equipment will be properly sanitized before and after instruction. Please make sure your child has proper shoes to move and exercise in during class. For safety reasons during exercise, please avoid the following: boots, high heels, sandals, and Crocs. Please rest assured we will do our part to create a clean and safe environment for your child.
