Helping your child with math starts with thinking about math in a different way!

Research shows that memorizing facts and procedures isn't enough for long-term math success. Students need strong number sense to build a foundation for mathematical understanding. Number sense develops gradually as a result of exploring numbers, visualizing them in a variety of contexts, and relating them in ways that are not limited to traditional algorithms.

Students need many opportunities to explore and play with numbers to develop good number sense. Click on your child's grade level for resources that you can use to help your child develop deeper number sense and become more flexible in their math thinking.
