Studies Week 2026 has the theme, One Drop | Infinite Ripple | The Power of Teaching, which reminds us that every moment of teaching has the potential to create lasting impact, rippling outward in ways we may never fully see.
We’re also stepping into what’s shaping up to be the age of AI. Just look at what it did for my profile image!
The 2026 programme has been designed to emphasise face-to-face sharing and interaction, bringing colleagues together for a week of collaboration, information, inspiration, and innovation.

Program
The program is currently being developed by the Studies Week Working Group. It will include a two-day face-to-face component at the Toowoomba campus on the Tuesday and Wednesday. Laptops will be required to be bought to the Wednesday face-to-face day.
The program will be made available to everyone shortly. Keep an eye out for the upcoming email.
Attendance
Tuesday and Wednesday include all face-to-face activities for the week, and your attendance in Toowoomba on these days is compulsory. You are expected to attend the entire week unless specific circumstances impact your availability; your Faculty Director must approve these. I understand work patterns and employment fractions may affect your availability. In such cases, attendance is encouraged across all days, but full attendance is not formally required where it conflicts with your work pattern and employment fraction – in such cases, attendance is your decision.
As you can imagine, a considerable amount of planning and a significant logistical effort are required to transport, cater, and accommodate staff during Studies Week, particularly on the face-to-face days. It is essential that any requests for exemption for any part of the week, are submitted before Friday, 21 November.
No request for exemption will be considered after Friday, 21 November.
Catering
Catering will be provided on the face-to-face days in Toowoomba for all attendees.
Lunch, snacks, tea and coffee will be provided on both days.
If you have any special dietary requirements, you MUST complete this FORM to ensure the correct catering is provided.
Travel
Specific travel arrangements to attend the face-to-face days at Toowoomba are being made for each campus location.
A bus will provide daily transport from the Ipswich campus for Ipswich, Inala and Springfield staff.
The bus will also make a pick-up stop at Plainlands on the way to Toowoomba. Further details and timing will be provided.
Your ETL/Facutly Director need to know if you will catch the bus or plan to travel in your own/private vehicle. Ensure to let your ETL/Faculty Director know this before Friday 31 October.
For all other campuses, transport is to be organised locally using fleet vehicles or at the direction of your Faculty Director or Manager.
Where accommodation is offered, those staff who wish to make alternate arrangements or travel home each day for personal reasons also need to ensure their ETL/Faculty Director are aware.
