The Day of Dead is an important date for Oaxaca.
It depends on the region of Oaxaca, but the most traditional ofrenda is the one that contains the following elements: white tablecloth, papel picado, sugar cane, cempasúchil and traditional Oaxaqueña food (tamales, mole and typical bread).
In Mexico city, Day of the Dead, is full of symbolic rituals and heartfelt ofrendas accompanied by a celebration: elaborate costumes, bustling parades and parties, masterful makeup and ofrendas throughout the city.
The Day of Dead in Michoacán:
This state is one of the ones that stands out the most, since it is known for making large ofrendas with many details. It is also important to mention that it is recognized for maintaining their religions and beliefs.

The sugar skulls represent human skulls. The medium ones remember that death is always present.
The paper represents the air. Each color means something different.
All these elements are considered as guiding lights in this world. They are, by tradition, purple and white , as they signify mourning and purity, respectively.
The white color of the tablecloth signifies purity and joy and the salt serves, so that the body of the deceased, is not corrupted on the round trip.
It is a representation considered by the Catholic Church as the "Body of Christ." It is a brotherly offering.
