To match the learning targets, objectives and outcomes, different modes of assessment serving formative and/or summative purposes are used in the curriculum. Examples of formative assessment tasks include learning tasks, projects and STAR platform. At the same time, different summative assessment tasks are adopted to evaluate students’ performance against the learning targets, for example, reading aloud, discussion, individual presentation.
In formulating the internal assessment policy, due emphasis is placed on formative assessment to make assessment for learning and assessment as learning an integral part of learning and teaching in the classroom. In addition to internal assessment, students are required to take various public assessments for different purposes.
