Commuter Transit

Do you want to s-t-r-e-t-c-h your dollars? Are you tired of traffic delays and tie-ups on your commute to work? Would you like to ease your commute and make it less stressful?

Well, Synergis would like to help you.

To help save money on commuting costs and provide a stress-free way for employees to arrive at work on time, Synergis has implemented a tax-free commuter benefit program. With this benefit, all employees who commute to work by public transit (bus, rail, or ferry) or vanpool can pay their fare with pre-tax dollars. The federal tax code allows employees to exclude up to $300 per month in transit or vanpool costs from their taxable income.

How to Enroll

Go to: www.myameriflex.com. (If you haven’t yet created an Ameriflex account, click Register.)

Once registered, select Commuter Transit.

Commuter Parking

The Commuter Parking Plan is designed to help you save on qualified parking expenses as part of your daily commute to work by letting you set aside tax-free dollars to pay for the cost of parking as part of your daily commute to work.  Examples of eligible expenses include parking at or near public transportation to get to work and parking at or near work.  The maximum monthly contribution for commuter parking is $300.

How to Enroll

Go to: www.myameriflex.com. (If you haven’t yet created an Ameriflex account, click Register.)

Once registered, select Commuter Parking.

Enrollment/Change Deadline

Employees can make a new commuter election or make a change to an existing election monthly.  Enrollments or changes to current enrollments made by the 10th of each month will be effective the first of the following month.

Commuter Contribution Schedule

Commuter deductions are taken once a month in the month prior to the benefit month.  See the commuter benefits deduction schedule in benefits guide for more detail.

*Available balances can be rolled over year to year. But keep in mind that when you stop working for Synergis, you forfeit any unused money left in your account.
