The Innovative Thinkers Project

What is it?

The Innovative Thinkers Project is voluntary for all SMS 8th graders.  The basic purpose is for students to expand their thinking limit and take a risk.

Students who do choose to submit something are recognized, on stage, with a plaque at the 8th grade recognition ceremony.

Some students choose to submit via video.  Check out this example from 2022!

In 2022, several students chose to teach their own science lesson to younger students at North Grove Elementary.  It was amazing!

In 2022 we had a record number 39 submissions!  It was incredible.  Among those submissions, we recongized the following students as STEM Leaders: Layla Janisch and Morgan Cook.  We also recognized our "Lab Coat Award" winners: Emma Anderson, Callista Morton, and Emma Weimer.
