Keyboarding

To help prepare students for the technology rich world third, fourth, and fifth graders will practice keyboarding skills throughout the entire school year. Second grade students will begin working on typing skills starting the second half the the year. Student will work on technique (correct finger placement / home row), speed, and accuracy. Students younger than second grade will not have access to our keyboarding curriculum, but if you would like your younger child to start early see the additional links below for other keyboarding practice activities.

Grades three, four, and five will be using a typing program called TypingClub. This program allows students to login using their Google account to save their progress.

When practicing at home, remember these keys to success:

  • Eyes on the monitor

  • Fingers on home row position (ASDF JKL;)

  • Feel flat on the ground
