As a refresher on our classroom management system. In short, we are a "1 Rule Classroom" - the one rule being "To Be Respectful".
We reinforce this with our school's PBSIS tickets; where students earn a ticket for any instance of respectful behavior. They can then "cash in" to earn prizes at both the school and classroom levels.
To help set boundaries and limits, students may receive a "Red Card'Â for any behavior that does not demonstrate respect. Earning a certain amount of red cards can result in the student filling out a reflection form and in some instances that form may be sent home for your signature.
Should a reflection form come home for your signature, please do not be alarmed. This does not mean it was a "bad day", but perhaps there were a few more challenges than usual. If you would kindly sign and return the reflection form I would appreciate it. This is my way of keeping you in the loop and collecting data for our reference.
This management system is not meant to be consequential, but rather a way to set boundaries/limits and offer students an opportunity to discuss and reflect on their behavior.
