HMH Into Reading

Our class uses HMH Into Reading, a program designed to help children become confident, successful readers. Into Reading is a Science of Reading–based program that uses a two-strand approach to literacy instruction. Students engage in lessons that build strong phonics and foundational skills while also developing important background knowledge. This balance helps children grow into confident readers who not only can decode words but also understand and enjoy what they read.

i-Ready Math

i-Ready Classroom Mathematics was designed to support all students in becoming critical thinkers, persistent problem solvers, and lifelong learners. Through engaging in mathematical discourse and problem-solving, the program allows students to:

Learn key concepts over multiple days to foster deeper understanding.
Solve problems using a variety of strategies to increase their math flexibility.
Share their math thinking with classmates, helping to solidify their learning.
Make connections to the math they see in everyday life.

Science

Mystery Science Units guide students' big questions toward critical thinking. Along the way, students piece concepts together and learn scientific thinking. Each lesson includes hands-on learning tasks, plus suggested videos and ebooks. Mystery Science also features shorter, 5-minute videos paired with writing prompts to extend the lesson.

Social Studies

Scholastic and Let's Find Out Magazine expose a wide variety of texts and lots of interactive content to the students. From stories, poems, and action rhymes to nonfiction, crafts, puzzles, and games, Scholastic offers abundant high-interest content and learning fun!
