Minnesota History
Our Social Studies curriculum focuses on Minnesota History, using resources developed by the Minnesota Historical Society and the Northern Lights textbook. Students will participate in a year-long portfolio project, which reinforces mapping skills, communication, researching, and writing skills. We also have a digital textbook that students can access on their devices.
Resources:
Sixth graders can visit any MNHS location for free! It's a great way for children to explore history outside of school hours. Any child who is in 6th grade during the 2025-26 school year is eligible for this pass. The pass provides free admittance for the 6th grader (not parents or siblings) to Minnesota Historical Society sites and museums through August 31, 2026. Click on the link above to request your pass today!
Our textbook is available online. Students will have a username and password to be able to access each chapter, which will be shared on Google Classroom.
