Dear SCMS Students, Parents, and Guardians,
What a blessing August has been at Switzerland County Middle School! As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, I could not be more excited about the incredible group of students we have at SCMS. Our students have come back ready to learn, grow, and make this school year a great one. The energy in our building has been positive, and it has been exciting to watch our students settle into routines and build relationships with their teachers and classmates.
I also want to take a moment to recognize our amazing teachers and staff. They have been working incredibly hard to provide meaningful learning experiences, support our students, and create a school environment where every student can be successful. Their passion, dedication, and commitment to our students are truly appreciated. I am proud of the work they do each and every day!
Fall sports are also in full swing! Our Pacer athletes have been working hard, representing our school with pride, determination, and teamwork. I encourage our families and community members to come out and support our athletes whenever you can. There is nothing quite like seeing our students compete while hearing the Pacer faithful cheering them on!
We are also excited about the many opportunities for our students outside of the classroom. On Thursday, students had the opportunity to sign up for clubs, and I am looking forward to seeing our students get involved, discover new interests, and build connections with others.

Thank you to our parents, families, and community for your continued support of Switzerland County Middle School. When we work together, our students benefit the most. I am incredibly proud to be a Pacer and excited about what lies ahead.

Casie Jesop-School Counselor
What are three traits that describe you?
Three traits that describe me: Compassionate: I genuinely care about helping and supporting others. Dedicated: I work hard and follow through, especially when it comes to your students, family, and goals. Encouraging: I motivate others and make people feel supported and valued.
What is something you're especially proud of?
Something I am especially proud of is the hard work and dedication I have put into achieving my college education and earning two master’s degrees. It has been a rewarding journey that has challenged me and helped me grow.
What do you enjoy doing in the summer?
This summer, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Spain! From there, I boarded a cruise ship and visited beautiful destinations in France and Italy. It was such an incredible experience exploring new places and learning about different cultures.
What is something you would like your students to remember about you?
One thing I want students to remember about me in years to come is I truly cared for each and every one of them.
What is your favorite dessert?
I like all desserts! You can also find me traveling to Dairy Queen enjoying a deal on a blizzard.

Where is your favorite place to go? vacation?
I like to go anywhere with a beach. I especially love Destin, Florida.
What is something you're especially proud of?
I am especially proud of my children Colton and Gabby.
What do you enjoy doing in the summer?
I enjoy traveling to new places. I have a goal to take my kids to every state. We have made it to 39 state so far.
Are you a morning person or a night owl.

What is your favorite thing about middle school?
I enjoy talking and getting to know the students.

I love to vacation at a beach.
What is your favorite dessert?
My favorite dessert is a root beer float.
Do you have pets? If so, describe them?
I have a Boston Terrier named Berkley, a mini Golden Doodle named Bo, a German Shepherd named Odin, and a Labrador/Golden Retriever named Claire.
What do you enjoy doing in the summer?
In the summer, I enjoy taking trips and relaxing at the pool.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I am a morning person.
