What tsi score do i need to be college ready?

The TSIA is a computer-adaptive test that adjusts questions based on how you are doing throughout the test.

The computer will determine your college readiness score. 

Some essays may be hand-scored if the program requests for it.

What will test day look like?

Before the Test

Do your best to get at least 8 hours of sleep the 2 nights before your test.

Eat a balanced meal before your day begins.


In the Testing Room

The test proctor will seat you at an open computer station.

Turn off your cell phone and any other nonmedical electronic devices.

Place your personal belongings & devices against the wall so the proctor can make certain you cannot cheat.

*IF YOU ARE CAUGHT CHEATING OR IN VIOLATION OF TEST POLICIES, YOUR TEST SESSION WILL BE ENDED AND REPORTED*

The proctor will give you a testing ID and begin your TSI test. Please be polite and listen to instructions.


After the Test

Your scores will appear immediately on screen at the end of your test.

Your score report may be sent to you if you reach out to the TSI teacher.

If you do not achieve college readiness, the score report will indicate what sections of the test require more study and suggest resources for you.

If you would like support to achieve college readiness, reach out to the TSI teacher so you can formulate a study plan together.


Remember that standardized tests do not measure intelligence or a student's worth. 

However, college entrance exams currently remain an important step in accessing higher education.
