Sweetwater Teacher Residency
The Sweetwater Teacher Residency Program strives to recruit and support teacher candidates in math, science, and special education content areas. As Sweetwater Residents, pre-service teachers are placed in the classrooms of experienced Resident Coaches and become members of a larger network of Residents and Coaches across the Sweetwater District. Through regular collaboration and reflection, Sweetwater Residents will be prepared to thrive in their future teaching careers.

The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) funds the Teacher Residency Expansion Grant in an effort to train, support, and retain the high quality teachers that our diverse California students deserve.

The 2023-24 Sweetwater Teacher Residency Program adheres to the guidelines set forth by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing in the Teacher Residency Expansion Grant Program.
