Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year. I am so excited to be returning to Bonita Vista Middle School, this time as your principal. I proudly served as the band director for BVM for many years before stepping into administration. This community is one that I care very deeply about. I look forward to getting reacquainted with you.
As Bonita Vista Middle School continues its candidacy to become an International Baccalaureate/Middle Years Program school, I want to remind you what IB learners strive to be:
Inquirers* Open Minded
Knowledgeable* Caring
Thinkers* Risk-Takers
Communicators* Balanced
Principled* Reflective
Each month, we will focus on one profile, but I encourage all Crusaders to weave these ideals into your daily practice. Our mission statement says that we strive for our students to be self-directed learners who are prepared for academic, personal and professional success. These learner profiles are a great start to achieving that goal.
Middle school is an exciting and sometimes challenging time. To our incoming 7th graders, we ask that you start the school year with an open mind and willingness to learn. Support can be found all over campus. Find your caring adults, whether that is a teacher, campus assistant, counselor or administrator. To our 8th graders, you are our campus leaders. Stay focused on your academic goals and continue to grow and learn. Our first quarter instructional focus will be on instructional routine. Hopefully, these efforts by your teachers will help you to set the year up for many successes.
Please be on the lookout for the Crusader Times; a weekly newsletter that will provide valuable information and updates throughout the school year. Parents and guardians, we are partners in this journey, so please do not hesitate to contact me. Students, I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you through your middle school journey.
