I am so blessed to be serving the students at Oak Heights Elementary.  I've been an educator, working as a both a substitute teacher and a school counselor, for the last 6 years.  I earned my teaching degree in 2016, and graduated with my Masters in School Counseling from Oregon State University in 2019. This is my fourth year in the Sweet Home School District.  I  began at Holley Elementary in 2018, and moved to Oak Heights for the 2019-2020 school year.

I am passionate about helping students to overcome their challenges and find success in school.  I believe that every student has the right to an education, and that all children are capable of growth and success.  My path to school counseling began with my own child's struggles as a third grader.  Working with school staff to help him overcome these challenges inspired me to find a career that allowed me to help other students who are struggling.  My goal is to be a resource for students, families, and teachers, working to find creative solutions for each student's unique challenges.  I believe in a strengths based, trauma informed approach to school counseling.  Each student comes to school with a unique history, set of strengths, and opportunities for growth.  As a school counselor, my role is to help students identify and foster their strengths, and to empower them to tap into those strengths while building skills and working to be the very best version of themselves.  Through classroom guidance lessons, individual supports, and small group work, I facilitate skill building in conflict resolution, coping strategies, career and college readiness, and self awareness.

If you have any questions or concerns about your student, please don't hesitate to reach out.  Our school is a family, and each of us plays a vital role in supporting our students.
