The 6th Grade Choir is an ensemble open to all 6th grade students at Lincoln Middle School. This ensemble will focus most heavily on the basics of vocalization, in addition to music literacy. Repertoire includes music from all genres, mostly in 2 part harmony.
The 7th and 8th Grade Choir is an ensemble open to all 7th and 8th grade students at Lincoln Middle School. This ensemble will also focus heavily on the basics of vocalization, in addition to music literacy. Repertoire includes music from all genres, mostly in 2-3 part harmony.
The GRHS Concert Choir is an entry level ensemble open to all singers, regardless of experience or age, at Green River High School. The ensemble strives to build phonation skills by emphasizing music literacy, basic repertoire, and sound skill development. Repertoire includes folk, classical, and contemporary literature mostly in 2-3 part harmony.
The GRHS Chorale is an intermediate mixed-voice ensemble open to all singers through audition and placement with the choral director. The Chorale performs concert and contemporary works from most styles, genres, and musical eras; student learning is focused on development of the mature singing voice, in addition to advanced theoretical and literacy concepts. Special emphasis is also placed on music history, harmonic mechanics, and career preparation.
Tritones is an advanced treble ensemble open to all singers through audition and placement with the choral director. While the Tritones learn and perform musical works of all genres, emphasis is placed on choral chamber music, as well as jazz, contemporary pop, and gospel music. Students in this ensemble hone their vocal technique toward a plethora of different styles. Harmonic theory, literacy, music history, and composition are all mainstays within this ensemble. Members of the choir also receive instruction with regard to microphone technique, sound fundamentals, and contemporary vocal styling.
The flagship ensemble of the Green River Choirs! Pack is the newest vocal ensemble to grace the GRHS stage. It features 10-16 vocalists performing contemporary pop, a cappella, and jazz tunes with the aid of full sound. Vocalists are selected for this ensemble by audition, and are among the most dedicated and skillful singers that Green River has to offer.
