Use the links and forms on this page to request specific services from the library. If you can't find what you need on this page then please contact me (Kristin Jónsson) directly.
If there is a book or other resource that you would like to check out from the library send Kristin Jónsson an email and I will make sure it is checked out and delivered to either your classroom or mailbox. Items can also be checked out from other libraries in SWCSD. In your email please give me the title, author, and whether you would like the item delivered to your classroom by a library worker or placed in your mailbox. You can access the library catalog here.
If you have a project coming up or just want to give students a refresher, you can schedule a time for them to come the library (or me to come to your classroom) and I will put together a research presentation that is tailored to your classes' needs. These presentations can include basic research skills, finding credible sources, locating topic specific sources, citing sources and creating works cited pages, or whatever you feel needs to be covered. If there is a topic you cover regularly see me about creating a subject specific pathfinder that will curate a selection of resources on your topic for students to access as their convenience.
A pathfinder is a curated list of resources made available to students and/or teachers on a particular topic. If you have a project coming up or you know there is a certain topic you teach each year then I can work with you to create a pathfinder that provides students with excellent resources to assist them with researching and understanding the topic. If you are interested in this please fill out the Google Form below and I will start working on your pathfinder. Please allow at least one week for the creation of the pathfinder. Once it's completed I will share it with you to ensure it meets your expectations before rolling it out to the students.
Feel free to send students to the library to take tests. Please send students with a pass and indicate if they can use notes, computer/phone, and/or a calculator. You are welcome to place the student's test in the test drawer in the library behind the circulation desk. I will be sure that the student sits in the quiet area of the library in order to complete their test.
If you need something laminated please send it to the library with your name attached to it somehow. We will laminate, cut it out, and send it back to you. Most projects can be completed in three to four days, if we need additional time we will let you know when you bring us the materials.
I'm also happy to help you with anything technology related including teaching you or your students a new website, app, etc.; working with you to integrate technology into your classroom; and troubleshooting as needed.
If you would like for me to help co-teach a lesson(s), please let me know, as I love to teach and would be thrilled to work with you and your students.
If you have any other questions or requests please email me or stop by.
Thank you!
