Study Hall and Lunch Pass Information

Welcome to the Westland School Library 

We are happy to provide a space where students can work, learn, research, and read.  We also have free mindfulness activities that help students to focus on the present, which can reduce stress.  Lastly, the ERC provides a quiet atmosphere where students can take makeup tests.

Library Pass Procedure 

1. Ask your teacher permission to go to the ERC. You must be passing all of your classes.

2. In your class, create an e-hallpass to the ERC.

3. Wait for your teacher to approve your pass.

4. Report immediately to the ERC.  The expectation is that you arrive within 5 minutes of creating your pass.

5. Give your school ID card to a library staff member.

6. Choose a seat and use the URL at your seat to fill out the form.

WHS Library Expectations

Each student reporting to the library 

• Must have a pass before reporting to the ERC.  

• Must have their school ID.

• Must sign in with the URL at their seat and stay in the same place for the entire period.

• Will remain in the library until the end of the period. (No restroom, locker, drinking fountain etc. passes are given in the ERC.)

• Must be passing all of their classes.

• Will be respectful to others, as well as respecting the library space and materials.

• Will use the library for academic or other purposes deemed appropriate by the library staff.

• Will not eat or drink in the ERC.

• Will work quietly.

• Will refrain from talking to students in the halls or passing through the library.

• Will remain seated until the bell at the end of the period.

• Will follow all directions given by the ERC staff.

• Will follow all library and school rules.
