Day four of our summer camp was awesome! We hosted 33 students from the area and taught them how to drive a robot. We used both our Into The Deep robots and some MiniBots provided by Illinois FIRST Robotics to have students work on driving a robot.

Day two of our summer camp was awesome! We hosted 33 students from the area and taught them how to code using the FTC SIM program and the VRS program. We also looked back at the 2024 Centerstage game and were inspired by the drone launching and had a paper airplane coontest!

The RoboKnights were able to be showcased at Chicago Christian High School's 7th Grade Step Up Day, where students from our feeder schools were able to spend the day at CCHS and see what Knight Life is all about. One of the stops on their journey was to listen to Caleeya talk about FIRST Robotics, STEM and The RoboKnights!
We had a great time demonstrating our robots at the FRC Midwest Regional. We were able to have teams and fans at the Midwest Regional watch our robots in action and also drive our robots. This was a great way to connect with the FIRST community and also to watch a FRC regional and see the next level up of FIRST Robotics. This was a great experience for all involved!

Then we got to see the 8th grade students from Calvin share the robots they have been working on in their PLTW classes!
We were able to set up a Zoom call this week with veteran team 12652 The Golden Ratio in order to talk strategy and get some advice before we attend our first State Championship! This was a great way to collaborate with another team and also get vital information to help us with our performance at State!
We were featured on Palos Heights TV where we were able to share about our season. This was a great way to reach a large number of people at one time and share with them about FIRST robotics and STEM. We were able to talk about the season we have had and how we qualified for state. We are excited that this will air the week before we go to state!
We visited the 8th grade algebra classes at Chicago Christian Tinley Park to share with them how math is used in robotics. We showed them how math is used in sketching, CAD, coding and scouting. It was a great way to share about robotics, FIRST and STEM with one of our feeder schools!
We took a day away from the robotics shop on January 24 and headed down to the Feed My Starving Children facility in Schaumburg to help serve the global community by packing nutrient rich meals! We raised over $1000 for this event and packed 750 meals!
As we continue to prepare for our State Qualifier, we sent a team of RoboKnights to the Fox Valley South division of our league to begin collaboration efforts with them. Not only did we get to watch matches and see their robots in action, we also got to get to know these teams and their robots better by visiting them in the pits.
We were blessed to have a member of the press at our Meet 2, which we ran and hosted. Jeff Vorva did a feature on the RoboKnights and not only shared about our team and FIRST robotics, but also featured our director of coding, Ryan Vanden Bosch. This was a great way for STEM, FIRST and the RoboKnights to be shared in the South Suburbs!
Hours and hours of preparation and time were put into making sure our league had a great experience at the second meet of the year. We provided snacks, buttons, and water to all teams. We set up tables, the field, live streaming and the scoring system to make the meet run smooth. We provided flyers and information to all those in attendance. We had multiple people from RoboKnights nation help volunteer, from set up, to welcome table, to field reset and queue, to refereeing, to finally take down and clean up!
As we approached the South Suburbs Meet 2, which we are hosting, we produced buttons for each team in the league for the drive teams to wear. This will give a FRC feel to our FTC meet and also give each team a souvenir to take home with them!
At our first meet, hosted at BBCHS, we had a number of RoboKnights help to run this meet. We helped with the field reset in between each match and also our coach, Mr. Verver, was the emcee for the event, keeping everything moving and announcing for the crowd what was going on in each match.
We had an absolute blast at the Chicago Christian High School open house! We shared our RoboKnights program with the 80 families who visited us! It is great to share STEM, FIRST Robotics, The RoboKnights and the vision and mission of CCHS with our community!
In October, a few of the RoboKnights headed to Grand Rapids for the annual Christian Educators Association Convention to share how they started a robotics program at Chicago Christian High School. This was a great chance to help schools who want to have robotics, but don’t know how to get started. We showcased the robot and gave advice on how to recruit members and fundraise.
Day four of our RoboKnights Summer Camp was another success as we again had 50 campers who learned about how to drive a robot! Campers drove the RoboKnights competition robot from last year as well as played soccer and sumo wrestling with our minibots!

We had a great time showcasing our robotics program to our grandparents at Chicago Christian's Grandparents Day celebration. We set up our robot and displays in the classroom and students were able to bring their grandparents along to see what FIRST Robotics is all about!

On March 7, the RoboKnights hosted the first ever robotics banquet! This was a great night to celebrate the season and get familes together to talk about STEM and robotics. It was also a great way to celebrate our seniors and welcome them into the FIRST Alumni family!

On February 29, the RoboKnights spent part of their Leap Day at Southwest Christian - Tinley Park Campus and showcased our season and robot. On February 20, we had the great honor and pleasure of having our RobooKnights program spotlighted on the local Palos Heights TV channel. This not only shared with the local community what our school and program are going, but it also helped us to reach 1000s of people and share with them the importance of STEM and FIRST Robotics!
On January 19, the RoboKnights and other members of Chicago Christian High School, headed out to the Feed My Starving Children packing center in Schaumburg and helped back over 135 boxes of high protein meals which were then sent all over the world to those who do not have enough to eat. This was a fun team building time for the RoboKnights, but also a great opportunity to serve the global community!
The RoboKnights were able to host a meet at Chicago Christian High School! We welcomed 10 other teams to our school and were able to serve them by giving them snack packs, setting up the field and pits, organizing the meet, and cleaning up everything afterward. Many of the crucial roles at this meet were completed by RoboKnight parents and alumni. This was a great day of service to our local FIRST community.

The RoboKnights were the star of the show at the CCHS Open House! Students were able to drive both last year's and this year's robot and learn more about our program. This was a great way to test out our robot for this season and also spread awareness about STEM and FIRST Robotics!
Day four of our summer camp involved teaching the future RoboKnights how to drive a robot. We had one room where students could drive Nano Knight and work on stacking cones in the FTC Power Play field. The other room had mini pushbots which were used to play soccer and sumo wrestling!
Day three of our summer camp involved teaching students how to build a robot. After some lessons about mechanisms and gears, students used VEX kits to create their own robot!
The RoboKnights had a unique opportunity to showcase our program and teach some coding and driving skills to a group of international students who were visiting from Vietnam. The students practiced driving our robot and learned how to code using the VRS program.
Day two of our summer camp involved teaching students how to code using Blocks coding and the VRS program. Students wrote code and then saw how it worked on a virtual robot and then could adjust the code. We also showcased Nano Knight by running a couple practice matches.

On March 24, we packed up our field and robot and headed out on the road. We visited Calvin Christian School and shared with them some videos of our season, showed off the robot, played some practice matches, and even let some students drive the robot! It was a great success!

In November, we gave presentations about the RoboKnights program and STEM at Chicago Christian High School's Open House. We look forward to events in the spring where we will visit local schools, libraries, and farmers markets. We hope to also start a FIRST LEGO League at our feeders schools next year!
